TYR Nest Pro Goggles:

Nothing is more irritating than a leaking swim goggle.  It is a good way to ruin a workout or to get a triathlon off to a bad start. The Nest Pro Goggle from TYR leaves us with great vision in our eyes, and no leaks after about a month and half at the pool.

The structural elements of this performance goggle’s frame create a unique grid-like effect; similar to the way a bird's nest is intertwined for support from an injected plastic “grid”. TPR frame/gasket features a dual-injected system with an over-molded nose bridge., which basically means, that the entire goggle is injection molded at one time and is really one piece, so there is nothing to come apart, and no leaks between the frame and the seal.

  • Polypropylene over-mold nest frame provides unique high-tech structure design.
  • Head strap features patented Glide Clip system, which allows easy on-head adjustment.
  • Double VTS (Varied Tensile Strength) silicone head strap conforms to side of head while flat back straps allow for secure fit.
  • Wide peripheral Cellulose Propionate (CP) lenses feature imbedded anti-fog properties and are UV protected.
  • Soft TPR gaskets for comfortable, watertight fit

Enough of the Tech talk and such, let’s talk about the important stuff. If a goggle could be made out of Titanium and Diamonds, but it is a hassle to adjust or leaks, it might as well stay in your gear bag. One continuous strap looped through the goggle twice is used to hold the Nest Pro in place. One can be worn a little high in the head and the other a little lower to help keep them from being kicked off or pulled loose. Adjustability is done though a 2-way slide on the back of the goggle which is a snap to tighten, and just as easy to loosen.

The gasket of the goggle is made from a pliable, one-piece Thermo Plastic Rubber (TPR) FlexFrame™ that is hypo-allergenic and offers a fit that contours to the face. The birds nest frame holds the other side of the gasket firmly in place. Overall a great fit, and they do not have to be worn supper tight to get a good seal and best of all, no nasty marks around your eyes.

TYR produces the Nest Pro Goggle in smoke, clear, blue and pink for all weather conditions. The Nest Pro can be picked up at most swimming stores and triathlon stores, and retails for $20.00. More information can be found at www.TYR.com.
