Sole Custom Footbedds

MMM … warm out the oven and ready to go. We aren’t talking about chocolate chip cookies here, although that does sound good and I am getting  a little hungry. We are talking about moldable footbeds for your hiking, running, skiing, casual shoes, and more from Sole Custom Footbeds.

Sole Custom Footbeds are custom moldable to your feet and shoes. The process is pretty simple. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees; trim the new insoles to match your current one (your will have to remove them). After trimming the new insoles pop them in the oven for exactly 2 minutes, remove, and place in your shoes inplace of your old insoles. Now is the fun part, slipping your feet into the warm shoes standing with your feet at shoulder width.

The manufacture does recommend breaking them in slowly adding to the amount of time you wear and break them in over a 3-day period. It is a a littel adjustment to your feet. Please read all the instructions at www.itsyoursole.com

The feel is quite refreshing giving your foot 100 percent support and comfort. Being that the footbed molds to the foot contouring around the arch, heel and forefoot there are no unsupported parts of the foot to suffer. Most insoles are “standard” cuts and if you have a foot with a little different shape to it, then you are out of luck.

Materials in the footbed include EVA (Ethyl Vinyl Acetate) base which is the moldable layer, Poron (Open Cell Urethane) center provides the cushioning layer while PPW (Perforated Polyester Weave) top keeps your foot dry and comfortable. Details on each material can be found at www.itsyoursole.com.

Durability seems to be quite good, after several months there is no compression of the material that you would get out of a foam insole. They actually have a warranty on them against the cushioning beating down, but I don't think that will be an issue. The best part is that after 4 months of use they don't stink, You can put them in a newer pair of shoes, without tranferring odor.

At a retail price of $39.95 it is quite inexpensive compared to custom beds at possibly 6 to 10 times the price. They are available online or at specialty stores such as hiking, running, and sports shops.

Beyond the product is customer service, so I called in to get some advise and the staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. Although we had no issues I am sure if we were to have a few, they would be taken care of. This is a very reassuring feeling. The website www.itsyoursole.com is very extensive and well put together so please visit it for more info.
